1) When opening a bottle, the detail(hole) of the ring should be on the palm side of your hand; it can later be spun around for comfort when not in use. The small hook/prong should be towards your largest knuckle, while the point should be towards the tip of your finger.

2) Place the hook under the edge of the bottle cap with the point touching the center of the cap.

3) Create a sturdy fist over the bottle with the ring in place. Pry up and over the bottle in one quick, smooth motion, keeping your finger firmly bent .

IMPORTANT: Do not let the largest knuckle of the finger the ring is on straighten at all! If the finger is kept sturdy and bent, the strength comes from your arm; if you allow your finger to straighten, all of the pressure will be on your finger.
